Supradiaphragmatic ectopic liver: delayed traumatic hepatic hernia mimics pulmonary tumor.Huang CS, Hsu WH, Hsia CY Division of Thoracic Surgery, Department of Surgery, Taipei Veterans General Hospital and National Yang-Ming University School of Medicine, Taipei, Taiwan, Republic of China. We present a rare case of a 63-year-old woman, the oldest one in the literature, with supradiaphragmatic ectopic liver that mimics a pulmonary nodule. The chest roentgenogram and chest computer tomography showed a lobulated tumor nearby the diaphragm. Pathological examination of the resected tumor disclosed only remarkable fatty liver change. Ectopic liver should be kept in mind to differentiate for the pulmonary tumor nearby the diaphragm. Published 4 June 2007 in Thorac Cardiovasc Surg, 55(4): 277-8.
